Title: LS410D drive error 18 -what does that mean

While attempting a drive backup, the status report is stating that disk 1 error status is "18." What does this code mean?

There are 18 bad sectors on the disk.

Thanks. That would represent a tiny fraction of the drive, and if the numbers do not suddenly increase, should be no cause for alarm. The drive is about a year old and is in constant use.
