Title: LS-CH1.0TL-US 7 Red Blinking Lights
Post by: cessna1466u on May 18, 2014, 07:38:31 PM
Hello All, I am having the issue with the 7 red blinking lights on my NAS. I read through some of the posts here and thought it might be the hard drive so I swapped it out but nothing. I even tried it without a hard drive and still the 7 red blinking lights. Is there anything that can be done to repair this or is it gone? It started to do it a while back on wake up in the morning, I would just turn it off and turn it back on and it would work, but not any more.

With a new HDD insert it should be flashing 6 times, is this the case?

Thanks for the reply. I just double checked and its definitely 7 red blinks after the initial blue blinking attempt at start up. The hard drive sounds like its constantly trying to start, almost like it was jammed but it is not because as soon as I plug it into my hard drive dock it starts up just fine. (The hard drive not the Linstation)

Does the HDD work ok in a PC? Run a SMART test on the HDD.

Thanks Davo, yes the HDD does work on a pc. I have it connected right now using a SATA to USB adapter and have backed up my files this way.

Sounds like the controller on the Linkstation is shot. its not detecting any HDD that you connect.
