Hello,
I have the 2TB Buffalo Cloudstation (it is the 1-disk model, I think the model is CS-X2.0, can't remember but I can check it).
It does not allow me to save files on it anymore. Trying to create new file gives error message:
$ touch /mnt/buffalo/test-file
touch: cannot touch `/mnt/buffalo/test-file': No space left on device
I have it mounted as Samba share on Linux, and "df -h" shows it's got 21 GB free space:
//cloudshare/cloudshare 1,9T 1,8T 21G 99% /mnt/buffalo
//cloudshare/backup 1,9T 1,8T 21G 99% /mnt/backup
As shown I have two partitions, or shares, on it, "cloudshare" and "backup".
I have emptied the "trashbox" and ".Trash-1000" directories from the root.
The Web interface also shows the same stats, 99% used, 21GB free etc.
Same thing if is use the shares from Windows; I can't copy new files onto it.
Does anyone have ideas what else I should try?
One thing I found when googling, is that the disk uses XFS filesystem. From http://xfs.org/index.php/XFS_FAQ#Q:_What_is_the_inode64_mount_option_for.3F (http://xfs.org/index.php/XFS_FAQ#Q:_What_is_the_inode64_mount_option_for.3F) it says something about not space for inodes, I don't know it that is true or not.
If nothing else helps, I think I'm going to start deleting empty directories (from empty incremental backups) from the disk, and see if that frees up inodes for new files.

Ya, I think the unit reserve's space for its own Cache and the meta files or inodes...
I wouldnt try to get it to 100% capacity if I where you... if your at 99%, stop now before the end! If you search the forum's, there are horror story's about NAS units just locking up completely and not allowing file or GUI access when the unit cant create the files for the cache it needs if you restart it
