The HD in my LS-XHL crashed and I'm trying to replace it with a new HD but have been unsuccessful so far. I'm trying to replace the HD with the exact same model (Seagate Barracuda 2TB).
In short:The new HD is brand new, meaning it's not formatted nor partitioned. I followed "FAQ (3 of 5): TFTP boot procedure" to install a boot image on the HD. It seems to have succeeded since after it is done, the LS-XHL reboots and the LED is blue. I then follow "FAQ (2 of 5): Force Firmware update procedure" to install the firmware. It looks like it is successful but after a reboot, the LED on the LS0XHL blinks E06.
In detail:I use a laptop set to IP 192.168.11.1 to install the boot image using TFTP after which I connect the LS-XHL to my network to flash the firmware. The exact steps are as follows:
- Connect the LS-XHL with the non-formatted, non partioned HD to my laptop with a network cable (set to IP 192.168.11.1).
- Switch on the LS-XHL. Led blinks E06.
- Start "TFTP Boot.exe" on the laptop.
- Press and hold the "Function" button on the LS-XHL until I see on the laptop it has uploaded two files to the LS-XHL: uImage.buffalo and initrd.buffalo.
- Release the "Function" button. The LED on the LS-XHL starts blinking blue.
- Wait until the LED stays solid blue.
- Disconnect the LS-XHL from the laptop and hook up the LS-XHL to my network (without rebooting or shutting down the LS-XHL)
- Start LSUpdater.exe on my PC (changed LSUpdater.ini so it repartitions and reformats the HD). It finds the LS-XHL and I start the update.
- Update succeeds (according the LSUpdater) and the LS-XHL reboots.
- LS-XHL blinks E06...
So any ideas what I'm dowing wrong (if anything)?
