Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have a LinkStation Mini Model number LS-WS500GL/R1, Firmware version 1.06 that I'm using as a NAS to backup my Server along with Tape.

I've hooked it up to my network with a static ip of 10.0.0.210. I have set it up on my Active Directory network and have mapped network drive B on my Windows Server 2003 server to the LinkStation.

I can see the LinkStation, connect to the drive, copy files to the drive, run a manual backup using Microsoft NT Backup to the drive, and if I run a Remote Desktop session on the Server I can run a scheduled backup using Microsoft NT Backup as long as I leave the Remote Desktop session logged on and running.

I am unable to run a scheduled backup to the B drive using Microsoft NT Backup if I've logged off of my backup account. It will only run if my backup user account is logged on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the backup user the only one that has read access to that back up folder?

My admin accounts have read access also.

yes, have read/write access.

For the NT back up you might need to be stay logged in as the user that started the back up with. You might want to check with the makers of the backup program.
