What is the process to upgrade from 4X 2TB drives to 4x 3TB drives?

Replace the disks -> Run the correct TFTP file -> this will put it into EM mode -> reinstall the firmware while telling it to format the new disks -> Done.

This is not a complete / correct answer.  What are the "correct" tftp files?  I've found other posters saying the tftp server doesn't work on win7-32, and recommend booting XP from a USB stick?  Also, I've seen lots of references to EM, but no succinct instructions for getting there.  Everything I've seen seems to indicate holding down the function button for 6 seconds before pressing the power button, but your answer doesn't even mention that so I'm wondering if maybe there's some other way to get to EM.
