Title: Linux file attribute preservation
Post by: jbarratt on April 20, 2009, 10:46:18 AM

I just purchased a Linkstation Pro (LS 1000GL, firmware upgraded to 1.15). Using a workgroup configuration, I see that files copied from a Windows XP machine retain their modification date, but files copied from a Linux (Ubuntu 8.04, kernel  2.6.24-23) do not. This makes efficient backups using of rsync impossible.

Is it there no workaround? If not, I will have to return this unit.

Are your time settings on the LinkStation set correctly in the web admin. I see a lot of issues where the GMT is off. Could you post those settings for me please?
