Title: TeraStation as a backup for other TeraStation
Post by: andrewj on April 16, 2009, 11:47:57 AM

Hi all, I just recently started at a company which uses TeraStations (TS-H1.0TGL/R5) as file shares (and backup of these shares).  When i started one of the TeraStations was dead, was booting into recovery mode.  I recovered it and upgraded the firmware to 1.33.  Now this TeraStation will not show up in the TeraStation list of the other TeraStations (firmware 1.03).  All the TeraStations are on the same subnet (192.168.99.x) and they are on the same switch.  I've tried manually adding the newly updated TS (even though they are on the same subnet) with no success.  Anyone have any ideas?  (All the TSs have been rebooted to see if that'd help)

Thanks

Andrew

It's possible that a re-initialization on the recently updated TS might help. Open up the web admin and go to Maintenance->Initialization->Restore if that doesn't work try updating the firmware on the other NAS devices as well.

Re-intialization didn't work :( a little wary to firmware update a production server (a bad update would be very bad)

Any other suggestions?  Is there a way to do a manual add (more than just the one that is included)?

Thanks for your help
