Title: LS-Q2.0 constantly failing and requiring RAID 'verification'
Post by: mfh100 on April 16, 2009, 10:49:08 AM

I have a Link Station Quad with 2 Terabyte. It has the latest firmware. I bought it about 8 weeks ago.  Ever since I have had it hooked up it is constant need of RAID checking or RAID restoring or some seemingly small glitch that then takes 8 hours or more for it to 'check' and then I can use it, and 8 hours later it goes down again.  For more "RAID verification"

This is so frustrating and constant as to be, well, worthless.  If it takes 8 hours to check itself, then I can use it for say 8 hours, what is the point?

I have it set up as RAID 5 but am thinking that I will just switch it to simple straightforward back up and remove the RAID usage. Which of course is what I paid for.

I only use it to back up a home network. I don't run Bit Torrent. I am not even using it as an iTunes server.

Hold down the FUNCTION button for 6 seconds before and continue to hold it while booting up the unit and perform a force firmware flash. After the force firmware (if successful) perform an initialization by logging into the web admin, then go to Maintenance->Initialization->Restore

E: After powering up the unit. Release and then press the FUNCTION button again, sorry about that :(
