Title: TerraStation Live 2TB Disk Error State 3
Post by: bocku on April 16, 2009, 06:04:17 AM

Hi to all,

I am using a Buffalo TerraStation Live . I recently received a mail report containing the fowolling:

DISK Error Notification

HDD error occured
Disk(s) the error occurred:Disk 2

(sdb) READ sector:1119469363 count:4
Disk writing error
RAID drive error will be repaired automatically.
Continuous Back-up is recommended.

I few days later, I got an activity report saying:

HDD Usage Status]
 RAID Array 1 Usage Rate : 1121264352 kbytes / 2194235008 kbytes (Usage
Rate
51%)

[DISK error status]
 DISK1   0
 DISK2   3
 DISK3   0
 DISK4   0

So, what is going on? Does anyone know what "DISK error status 3" mean? Anyway, I want to change that hard drive. I saw in the forum, that all I need to do is simply to shut the TerraStation down and exchange the harddrive with a new one. And after that it is going to "restructure" the data and by copying a part of it on the new hard drive. Is that it? Don't I need to adjust something from the web interface?Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
