Title: Setting up FTP to specific folder (LS-WTGL/R1-V3 F/W 3.10)
Post by: PCHomepage on January 19, 2014, 07:49:13 PM
I am trying to set up the FTP on a LS-WTGL/R1-V3 F/W 3.10 NAS drive and have have it basically working locally. However, I see no way whatsoever to match individual users to specific folders.

Also, while it is working locally and I have DynDNS working, I am unable to access it remotely.  I already have another FTP server on port 21 so I set the Buffalo unit to port 1025. The LS-WTGL's user interface is so poorly designed that it is virtually impossible to get it working properly and I see no firmware updates on the Buffalo site nor do I expect if there were any that they would be much on an improvement.

In any event, any ideas for getting this working as needed?

You cant match a user to a specfic folder unless you make a parent folder in the linkstation for each user then use folder restrictions to make sure only that user can access that folder. The LinkStations are limited to users per Parent folder and not sub folder like you would be used to in windows or linux full blown FTP server.
