Title: Linkstation DUO LS-WX2.0TL/R1 - WebAccess
Post by: burnsie on January 16, 2014, 02:09:01 PM
Hi all.

Firstly I'm not the most computer literate person in the world, as you'll soon find out.

I am trying to set up my new Linkstation for WebAccess. I've followed the steps on the following page http://buffalonas.com/manual/en/webac_nas.html

I've followed both A and B options and get the same "result".

Essentially after I change my details (i.e. chose a Buffalo.com Name) – see 5a or 4b – and press "save" I get a box saying "saving data". The progress bars just goes round and round, and after about 10 mins just disappears, not saving any data.

Any ideas?

What is your firmware on your unit? Also have you tried doing a factory reset? Also make sure you have a default gateway and DNS in the linkstations network settings.

HI.

So, contacted Support and they outlined the settings I should have;

WebAccess Service:  Enabled
HTTPS/SSL Encryption:  Disabled
Use BuffaloNAS.com:  Enabled
BuffaloNAS.com Name:   Name your Server
BuffaloNAS.com Key:    Same Name
DNS Hostname:    Blank
Auto-Configure Firewall:  Disabled
External Port:      9000
NAS Internal Port:  9000
Exclusive session:  Disabled
Session expiration time:  30
WebAccess URL:   will be reflected as the server name

I chose a new name, and hay presto it worked. I tried to access (just access at this point) from the web = worked. From my phone = worked. From my tablet = worked.

Restarted everything = still worked

tried later on in the evening = nothing works.

errrrrr?

Were you able to access the shares normally? besides webaccess... if so then its a webaccess issue and i would make sure you have the latest firmware and try a factory reset. Factory reset will not delete any data. just all your settings in the linkstation.
