Title: How do I get out of EM Mode
Post by: stonelynk on January 14, 2014, 08:26:28 AM
Guys I am a newbie to this forum as my buffalo NAS have never given me a problem but I now have a Linkstation LS-XL that has gone into EM Mode. I have read as much as I can to resolve this but no joy.

I have got the NAS and the pc it is attached to on the same subnet, when I run updater v1.68 the linkstation returns ip address as 169.254.137.37, with subnet as 255.255.0.0.

I assume that the laptop the drive is connected to should also have same subnet and in in same ip range, what about the route should this also changed?

Read so many posts that not sure what the correct step by step procedure should be.

Looking for help please - remember a little of a newbie to this type of issue.

Cheers

If you are getting that ip address from the linkstation and your linkstation and lapton are connected to a network i would get a internet cable and hook your laptop to your linkstation. So it will be Laptop to linkstation. Then disable your wireless. Then go to start, type "cmd" in the search and hit enter. A black window will appear. Dont worry about whats already typed there. Type "ipconfig" and see what your ip address is. It should be 169.254.X.X, If not let me know. If yes then run the updater and try to update again. If it fails let me know and tell me if there is a error.
