Title: HD-HC500U2? not seen drive in USB port 1
Post by: Rich09 on April 13, 2009, 05:59:40 PM
   Hello all,

I just received a LinkStation Live (HS-DH500GL) a week ago. While it works OK and can see an USB drive attached to USBDISK2 (a generic laptop drive in a USB/SATA enclosure), can't see a HD-HC500U2 Buffalo USB drive connected to USB port 1.
If I look into USB Details, can see it as:

Storage
BUFFALO INC.
BUFFALO INC. USB-SATA Bridge

USB 2.0

But the drive is not shown anywhere in the WEB interface. I swapped drives and now I can see the Buffalo USB drive, but not the smaller drive.

I tried the suggested procedure in KB#000013, but no changes. Found the shipped FW version was 2.10, and updated it to 2.11, but still no trace of the USB drive in port 1.

Is USB port 1 busted?:smileysad:

It appears that way, you've isolated it to that port. If you're within warranty, we can replace it for you. Call our support line to set it up.
