Title: Unable to access NAS [TS-RH4.0TGL/R5]
Post by: shtaffa on December 12, 2013, 04:11:33 PM
I have a Buffalo NAS (TS-RH4.0TGL/R5) that I'm unable to access.  We aren't using this model in production any longer.  I'm wanting to test some things and I thought this would be the perfect sandbox, except it isn't working.  It seems to boot fine.  The lights and messages on the front panel don't show any errors.  I'm able to ping the IP that is associated with it.  However, I'm unable to access the web interface or any of the shares from Windows.

Any ideas?  Unfortunately, any attempts at doing a Google search or a search of these forums has come up fruitless.

It probably in EM mode, what is the host name that is being displayed in the LCD?

davo,

On the screen that also displays the IP address, it says TS-RHTGL-EMD8B.  The following display shows "EMERGENCY MODE" and "NO ARRAY INFO".  You obviously hit the nail on the head.

I did some searching and found that this is most likely caused by something wrong with the Linux OS.  I downloaded the latest firmware and applied it.  Now it's working!!!

Thank you so much for your reply and pointing me in the right direction.  Truly appreciated.
