Title: chaging a hardrive for a links station pro duo
Post by: chavey on October 20, 2008, 12:37:20 AM

I have a linskstation pro duo that has a failed hardrive, how do I replace the drive ?

the unit is out of warranty.

also, the unit is running firmware 1.02, I would like to upgrade to  1.07 if there is

any benefits in doing so. Is there a guide describing how to do a safe firmware upgrade.

thank you.

this link will help you,

http://buffalo.nas-central.org/index.php/Recover_a_non_working_%22bricked%22_Linkstation

and how to open it

http://buffalo.nas-central.org/index.php/Disassemble_the_LinkStation

Please remember that  Buffalo does not support this, this is a dangerous operation (exposing power supply and capacitors)  which Buffalo does not support and that LS product owners do this at their own risk.

we strongly suggest product owners take their product to an electronic service store to have their LS's opened and upgraded by a professional.
