Title: TeraStation HS-DH4.0TGL/R5 can't format 3TB extenal USB drive to XFS
Post by: sglet on November 20, 2013, 10:05:16 AM
Hi,

We have a HS-DH4.0TGL/R5 (firmware 2.14) configured as a RAID5 which makes 2.7TB once formated. Just in case we bought a Seagate 3TB extenal hard drive (STBV3000100, latest firmware) to have a copy of the NAS' data.

The problem is that the NAS can only format 734.79 GB in ETX3 format. Formatting in XFS takes a couple of minutes and gives 0 GB of disk space ...

Is there a USB external drive capacity limitation on this model ?

Thanks
Simon Glet

There is a 2TB limitation on USB HDDs on this older NAS.
