Title: Raid 1 failure

I have an old Buffalo 4-unit HD Raid box that connects via USB.  It runs some streaming video.  I inherited this network from someone that was not particularly good at maintenance, backing up, or following standards.

We knew that this box was getting old, so we were planning to replace the drives.  I turned it off, pulled the drives to label them with a marker and when I turned it back on drives 3 and 4 went red.  It doesn't help that he used WD blue drives in it.

The raid utility says that the there is a failure in the raid.  All drives show red in the utility. 

This particular box is set to Raid 1. Disks 1 and 2 are seen as a single drive (striping I am assuming) and mirror to 3 and 4.  I am assuming I still have data on 1 and 2.  What is the best procedure for recovering this data?

Might help if we actually knew what unit you have??!!!!

Sorry, it literally says Buffalo 4-Unit HD Raid on the front.  According the part number from the back it is a DriveStation Quattro™ Rackmount.

I am not familiar with buffalo storage products.  Sorry, for the mix up.
