Title: Copy files to Terastation 440 using RSYNC
Post by: uffez on October 10, 2013, 04:50:06 PM
I just bought me a Terastation 4400 and equipped it with disks. Now I want to copy files from my Nas4Free server to Terastation. I believed rsync file copy would be supported - but can´t find support for this in the web-i/f. It seems like there are options to copy files FROM Terastation to other devices, but how can I copy the files from my Nas4free in teh best way? Copying through a file manager is unstable and really time consuming, so I believe an alternate solution should be possible but I can´t see how being a newbie.

Thanks in advance for any assistance that will save me time.

Anyone? Or is this type of a basic feature not even supported? In such a case, is it possible to access the Terastation through ssh thus enabling to execute the command manually?

Got a response from Buffalo Support:

"There is no application for the rsynching or file transfer from FreeNas to Terastation. You need to transfer the data manually by copying the files."

Kind of surprising, I must say...

I also asked for the possibility of accessing the NAS through SSH:

"Also the unit as no possibility or option for the SSH access."

Also surprising...

I am not impressed...
