Title: PXU-2 missing Utility_HD-PXU2 when insert into laptop
Post by: dani12345 on September 21, 2013, 12:31:02 PM
Hi All,

I have a 500GB PXU-2 harddisk. It is working fine until today. Normally, when I plug the harddisk into the laptop, the Utility_HD-PXU2 would appear automatically at the devices with remote storage section. However, I only saw CD Drive and I cant open it. Therefore, I totally cannot access my harrdisk. Is it mean that my harddisk corrupted? Any way to save it?  :(

Very appreciate your help.

To me it sounds like the drive has corrupted sectors. Usually when i see this it turns out to be that. Try and switch cables and usb ports, also try another computer. If the same thing keeps happening i would check if you still have a warranty to get the drive replaced.

If you see your drive but now you cant access it, do a disk check or chkdsk command to check disk.
