Title: Port Forwarding
Post by: NewSC on September 13, 2013, 09:12:00 AM
I have a Buffalo Linkstation Pro Duo
I have set it up for WebAccess and it works correctly with all devices operating on my own network, LAN. I can access the shared files using a browser thru buffalonas.com on the computers and from the mobile app on my smartphone and my ipad.
When I try to access it from any other Wi-Fi location I get either a cannot access or Timed Out message and can not access the shared files.
I have a Linksys E3200 dual band wireless router that the Linkstation is hard wired into.
I have set the port forwarding in the router to 9001 external and 9000 internal assigned to the Linkstation IP address and enabled.
My ISP is AT&T DSL using a WESTELL modem.
Does anyone have experience assigning and opening the port for this configuration?

Do you actually have the external port for web access set to 9001? You can just enable Auto configure firewall UPnP on the advanced web access settings and let the router automatically forward the port. Make sure you have UPnP enabled on the router also.
