Title: Nas Navigator not turning on LS-V2.0TL in Windows 8
Post by: davidsco27 on August 29, 2013, 04:41:12 PM
Recently bought a new laptop with Windows 8. Install Nas Navigator to go with my Buffalo Linkstation Pro. The Laptop no longer turns the NAS on or off with it in Auto setting.  Does it not work with 8?

With the latest Nas Navigator version, yes. and make sure you have your anti virus and firewall software set correctly or else the WOL packet will not be passed to the NAS.

The latest version of Navigator looks and works differently on W7 and W8 machines, which tech support acknowledged. (I have a W7 laptop and a W8 desktop, connected to the same Buffalo NAS devices.) I don't use the power management functions, so don't know about the shutoff capability, but I do note that the W8 machine doesn't identify the NAS model number, display the right icon, or show the drive capacity and remaining space. Tech support said the anomalies would be addressed in an update.
