Title: HOW TO: Increase Raid Array Size
Post by: salighie on August 16, 2013, 03:52:07 PM
Hello All,

i've recently had to upgrade the drives in my LinkStation BUFFALO LS-WX2.0TL/R1 .
i went from 1TB WD10EZRX (shipped with NAS from factory) to 2TB WD20EZRX

the issue that i'm writing about today, as you can probably begin to imagine, is that while the replacement of the drives went through without any data loss... the RAID 1 Array size still says 900+GB.

isn't there any was to increase that size without having to backup the hundreds of GIGs of data, recreating the Array... and then restoring the data?...

shouldn't it be possible to extend the Array bounds to take full advantage of the 2TB drives?

thanks in advance

No, and anyway, you should have a backup at all times.
