Title: Terastation 5k + WSS2012 - User Home Folders
Post by: yyny81 on August 15, 2013, 07:39:14 PM
Hi all,

New to the forum and would like an expert opinion on storing/setting up user home folders on a Terastation 5k + WSS2012.

First things first, how can we divide the default 10.8TB RAID 5 D:/ into two separate volumes?

What is the best approach to storing user home folders on the storage NAS?
Should we create/store the folders directly on a drive?  or create a virtual HD w/ ISCSI and map that on a server (AD domain controller)... and store the user home folders there?...   perhaps on a mirrored volume?

So many ways to go here, thought I can get a second opinion from a veteran terastation operator.

Thanks!
