Title: dead HD-HG250Lan and Axis 1TB hanging off it
Post by: lancer on July 16, 2013, 06:09:55 AM
I added an Axis 1TB USB drive to my older HD-HG250.  I used Nas Navi to format the USB device so that the HG250 could "see it" and add it as another share to my network.

My HG250 is dead (6 blinks of the DIAG red light indicates HD cannot be read) so I am in the process of trying to recover that, but separately I tried to connect my Axis directly to a Win7 machine to try and read it.  The computer detects the device, but Win Explorer doesn't "see it" so I can't browse the files.

I suspect the format of the hard drive is not compatible with Windows.  Perhaps FAT32 and it should be something else?

Does anyone know what format my Axis is in? and how to read it from a Windows 7 machine?

thx

You more than likely formatted it to EXT3, this is a Linux file system.
