Title: Linkstation quad sata 1
Post by: growls on April 07, 2009, 10:23:34 PM

is it possible to mount sata 1 drives into a linkstation quad box? the drives are WD JS 250gb. If I try to put in 3 drives (no partition) I get the error flashes of 6 which means drive not recognied.

Does linkstation quad require 4 drives? or is it that it will not work with sata 1 drives?

i added a fourth and no luck the unit came with 4 1tb drives but i had to pull those out to use elsewhere. I tried factory reset. all 4 250 gb drives I plugged into a pc, deleted any partition then mounted them into the linkstation. I tried with only 1 -2 250gb drives. no luck so far

I have tried everything :/ if I take all drives out, i get 7 flashes which means motherboard or drive controller error. I have tried only 1 drive, 4 times for 4 different drives. I cant even ping the box because it doesnt boot up, it just flashes 6 red flashes over and over. Would also mean my warranty is void because i have changed the drives. spectacular waste of $1200AU Buffalo

I would recommend contacting Uniden which is the Buffalo representative for AU for an RMA. It's possible your device can be replaced. You can find their contact info here.
