Trying to keep a long story short, my HS-DH500GL worked fine at my old place on my wireless network, but I moved to a new apartment, and I'm splitting sharing the internet with my neighbor, who has the wireless router in his apartment.  I'm now trying to hook up the NAS via ethernet cable.

I bought a D-Link DGS-2205 gigabit ethernet switch and two cat6 cables.  I am running Mac OSX 10.4, and I went in under the network settings and changed the ethernet configuration to manual, 1000baseT, and full duplex (as was advised on another forum).  I still can't get the NAS to show up on my network.  

Any ideas?  Thanks is advance,

Hmm...I guess I'm not asking the right sort of questions here.  Can someone answer me this: I should be able to, theoretically, access my DH500GL from my computer via a gigabit ethernet switch, correct?  This sort of thing can be done and the fact that it doesn't show up on mine indicates that something down the line isn't working?

Here's what I've got so far:

   So you have a LinkStation Home Server? Here's what I would try:

1. Holddown the reset button on the back of the unit while it's powered on (approx. 15 seconds should do the trick).This should have the unit acquire an IP address automatically insteadof keeping any static setting it might have retained from your previousnetwork.
2. Try the NAS Navi client that is available hereif you haven't installed it. This program should be able to see acrosssubnets and therefore tell you the network location of your NAS.
