Title: Formatting LinkStation NAS
Post by: pablocabo on October 17, 2008, 10:00:25 AM

I'm new to using a NAS and have a straightforward question;

I have a;  LS-W1.0TGL/R1-v3 using Raid 1 Mirroring.

I was using the Memeo software to back up files but have found that the software has challenges and have decided not to use it.

Here's my question:  I would like to delete all the files currently on the NAS.  With the Raid, what is the best way to get these files off (format vs. deleting them??).  And if I format the NAS... does it do these to both drives?

I would format it or rebuild the RAID, and formatting it or deleting it would remove it from both drives.
