Title: Problem with Link Station Quad 4TB (HD lights turn off / goes to sleep when copying)
Post by: neilinoxford on March 18, 2009, 08:34:12 PM

I've just purchased a 4TB Link Station Quad and when I copy files, every so often (e.g. a minute or two apart), the hard drive lights stop flickering and file copying stops (additionally, the MP3 I'm streaming off the server stops streaming).  After about 5 seconds, all four HD lights turn off and then back on and copying and MP3 streaming resumes.

The power switch is set to manual and the firmware is v1.05.  I'm using a 1 gigabit LAN.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,

Neil.

Seems to be a power issue, i would grab any data you can and call in for a replacement.  Something like this persists only bad things can come from it.  Reflash the firmware if it continues call in.

This is the same issue I am experiencing (see stalling).  Did you ever get this fixed?
