Title: Link Theater on Vista?
Post by: earl08 on November 21, 2008, 03:13:01 PM

I just installed the application on a vista machine.  When I start the configure server application it says file sharing is off. When I select Turn on file sharing it seems to look for a file server then displays a message: There was an error starting the server, your server may be unavailable untill you reboot your computer.

The computer has been rebooted.  No difference.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

thanks in advance

Earl

Try turning off the firewall and anti virus software.

Which Link Theater are you using? If it is the P4 one then the sever software was never designed for Vista. You will have to use the Media Center Server built into Vista.
