Title: Terastation Pro TS-1.OTGL/R5 - Conflicting drive capacity information.
Post by: scarrz on March 17, 2009, 10:21:14 AM

I am looking to buy a gently used TS-1.OTGL/R5 and need to find out if the unit can handle any drives larger than the 250gb that it comes with?  I called buffalo tech support and the operator told me it could handle up to 4tb's,  4 x 1TB drives.  (Side note: I of course got the impression after waiting 15 mins on hold that he did not even take the effort to look up the model # I provided).  I then read in another post on this forumn that it cannot handle anything over 500GB drives?

I need to get to the bottom of this.  Can anyone confirm that they have placed 1tb drives in this specific unit?

You can upgrade the drive size but It will VOID THE WARRANTY and it might not work becuase that unit is configured for the original drive size.
