HELP, I appear to have a corrupted flash or the bits on the HDD. This occurred after a shutdown.

Model TeraStation Pro II TS-HTGL/R5 4x250GB HDD

14 months old, o problems to date

Firmware 1.32 Ausrtralian version (thats where I am)

On start my TS firstly went to error 04 unable to load kernal, restarted (fingers crossed)--hung boot, restarted into EM mode-- hung at System Mode EM booting.....

Any ideas on reflashing with a TS with this problem.

If your suggestion involves TFT Boot.exe I will need to know how to get it as the link

It could be a specific bad disk. Try removing one at a time and starting it up. If your able to get passed boot up, put the disk back in and see if it fully loads. If it's not a specific drive call us and we'll help you through the tftp boot.

Not a bad disk (or a Bad disk as well!)

No1 removed hung at System Now Booting .......

No2 removed Kernel Failed to load, on second try hung at System Now Booting ......

No3 removed hung at System Now Booting ......

No4 removed Kernel Failed to load, second try Kernel Failed to Load

Replaced No4 tried again hung at System Now Booting .....

The System ROM Booting ......, and DRAM check is always OK

BUT when the scrolling dimmed display comes on the top line is "WELCOME To noitatSareT"

the second line displays "TeraStation ot EMOCLEW Terastation"

Does anyone know where the Tft Boot.exe program is available? the ftp site seems to be broken and has anyone had success with 'unbricking' this model without losing the data on the disk.

If the FTP site is down then we most likely know about it and are working on it. Thank you for your patience and please try this link ftp://24.153.165.234. The FTP server was functional at the time of this posting.

Well, I've tried Firefox, Opera, IE8, Coffee Cup Direct FTP, WS_FTP Pro on this computer and they all indicate Server not available or connection time out (I even extended the time out on WS_FTP Pro to the max 3600sec). I even pinged it - Timedout! I also tried using another computer Network Timeout again.

Is there some magic I am not aware of or is it only visible within the Buffalo internal network?

I know what the magic is it is my ISP medling with my satellite modem/router, they had blocked outbound ftp while trying to improve my performance, I had no tx/rx for random 20min periods in the hour.

I am now back in business and have downloaded the necessary file.

Sorry to cause the headscratching, I never thought of the sat modem router(I can't even look at settings!), as I had changed nothing in my netgear firewall router or access point for months and everything was set OK when I checked.

Sorry for getting into this thread... I just found it via a google search (searchterm noitatSaret ot EMOCLEW )

I just rebooted my TeraStation and instead of displaying "Welcome to TeraStation", the display says "notatSaret ot EMOCLEW".

Any idea how to fix this or is it harmless and I can ignore this behaviour?
