Title: Terastation II large file backup
Post by: drito on March 16, 2009, 09:03:45 AM

I have a TSII Pro Rackmount 4TB Model with firmware 1.33.

I need to backup a rather large file, about 668 Gig and growing, from the TSII to a backup drive on the usb port.

I have formatted the drive as Fat32, it was NTFS and realized that i can't use NTFS. I know that there is a limitation of 4 gig for fat32.

The file is a Microsoft backup file *.bkf of a computer that i have to keep tabs on.

My question is , is there a way around that so that i can backup my file to the usb drive or am i up the proverbial river without a paddle?

If you can see the device with a linux computer running the iscsi initiator. That file format system has a limit size of 16TB.

no i don't. Strictly Microsoft products.

So i mainly will have to split the backup job into sections, huh?

I will probably have to come up with something better.

Thanks
