Title: Linkstation Live & iTunes .aiff
Post by: bjastbf on March 15, 2009, 12:13:35 AM

Just installed Linkstation Live CH500.  It mounts fine in iTunes, but only Protected MPEG 4 & MPEG audio show up. Yet, I have tons of .aiff music files on the drive.

Any idea what's up?

Thanks

With aiff a lossless data compression we are looking into the ability to work from the chl.  Most of the times the client in the deciding factor.

While I would prefer to use iTunes as the client for these aif files, are there other Mac clients that can handle aifs from a LinkStation Live?

Have any solutions been found for this issues, yet?

The problem comes down to the client that the end user is utilizing.  If the files can be seen, written and read from the device by normal network transfer then the NAS is functioning.  We cannot be responsible for finding workaround for flubs in 3rd party software.

In short, is it iTunes?  :smileysurprised:

Open source clients don't seem to have this problem.
