Title: Upgrade firmware on Linstation Live
Post by: paladin on March 11, 2009, 01:17:35 PM

I have a Linkstation Live HS-DH500GL running 2.10 firmware

I noticed there is a newer version 2.11.

1.  Are there any reasons NOT to upgrade?

2.  Will this upgrade erase my hard drive?

3.  Are there any docs for this upgrade, the zipped folder has no docs in it

thanks

Bill C.

Most of the time when you upgrade your firmware the reason for it is compatibilty issues with the device and your network.  Are you currently having problems?  It will not erase your hard drive.  Right now if your Buffalo is running smoothly just keep the firmware you have and if you run into problems then give us a call or then try the firmware update.

Every time I try to run the updater.exe,  Microsoft Windows instantly pops up and says ' Buffalo LinkStation Updater has stopped working"

i have tried running it as administrator as well

Thanks

make sure the compatabilty mode is set to windows 2000 and connect via ethernet. make sure the computer and linkstation are on the same subnet and it should work.
