Title: Drivestation Duo (HD-W1.0TiU2/R1US) not recognized by Mac Computer
Post by: Frank_C on March 10, 2009, 07:30:19 PM

I have used this device for about a year. Today when I turned on the MAC (OSX), I received a "Disk Insertion" error dialogue box: "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer." When I use the MAC disk utility, it sees the disk but does not allow me to repair (not an option). When I use the MAC raid utility included on the Buffalo CD, I receive "Failed to read DLL" error message. I have a great deal of data on this device, with RAID 1. The same problem occurs with both Firewire and USB.

Any help would be grealy appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like there was either some corruption on the disk, or the controller went bad. Tech Support can set up an RMA for you if the device is under warranty.

I can't tell you to pull a drive out to see if it's readable when directly connected.

You may need to contact a data recovery company.
