Title: question 3 thanks for patience!
Post by: JohnRobert on March 10, 2009, 07:45:25 AM

3)  If problem 2 is a firmware problem, does anyone know if I can update the Buffalo by merely attaching it to a Windows laptop/Windows desktop through a USB cable through back of the Mini?  Or do I need a ethernet cable?  Or even a network via a Windows computer environment through a USB or ethernet cable linked directly, w/o network, to my hard drive? (Does last suggestion even makes sense!)

You need to do it over the network from a pc or directly connected to the ls with the ethernet port.  Usb is only for backing up the device, not an input.
