I hooked up a HP Laserjet 1018 to one of the USB port located on the rear panel of my Tearastation (model HS-DHTGL/R5 2.14).

I enabled the Print Server on the Terastation. When I go to System Status->USB details I can see:
Printer Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet 1018 USB 2.0
Basically everything looks good from the Terastation.
Now on my Vista laptop I added the printer using ADD Printer. Now I'm not sure about this configuration, I hope somebody has been thru the same situation before and tell me what am I doing wrong.

My Terastation IP = 192.168.1.108,
Port name = P1_192.168.1.108
Port# 515
Protocol = LPR
Queue name = P1
LPR byte counting enabled is checked

What is wrong in this setup, I can't print. Print job goes to queue and printer error or printer buzy.

Is Print Server enable?

Do you have the drivers installed on this comp? Also make sure that they are post-script drivers (it will not work otherwise).

Try Initializing the unit through the web interface (Maintainence> Initialization> Restore to Defaults), then try it again.

Print Server is enable.

I installed Post-Script driver from HP site to my Vista laptop.

Still I can't use the printer connected to the USB port.

The easiest way to set up a printer with the TS is once the printer is connected and drivers installed, press WindowsKey+R to bring up Run, then type in "\\ip_address_of_ts" and hit ok. Right click on LP, click connect, and follow the wizard.
