Title: "Error accessing BuffaloNas.com, check internet settings."
Post by: mcaram16 on March 05, 2009, 04:25:58 PM

When i go to the IP of the NAS and try to change any of the settings for the remote access I get "Error accessing BuffaloNas.com, check internet settings." when i attempt to save my changes.

When i goto buffalonas.com I can login using the buffalonas.com name i picked but only locally....remotely it just times out.....

I set a specific IP for the device 192.168.5.3 and forwarded port 9000 in my router....what am i missing? I have a linkstation LS-L320GL..

Make sure you have the correct networking settings set on the Linkstation. Default gateway should be your router's address, and make sure you have valid DNS server addresses. You can find out your DNS settings by Start->Run, cmd /k ipconfig /all.

If you forwarded the port in your router you need to make sure that in the web access setting portion of the Linkstation's web gui is not set to auto config firewall(UPnP). Set it to use external port and type in 9000. Also check with your ISP to see if that port is not blocked.
