The original purpose of my Linkstation Live was to allow the data on family member's individual laptops to be individually backed up to this easy access network location. The backup software running on our laptops is Genie Backup.
Linkstation Live has evolved to be the single storage location for much of the family data such as photos, music and videos etc and this needs to be backed up. I have purchased a Buffalo Drive Station external hard drive to connect via USB into the Linkstation Live. The aim is to have an automated backup of the contents on the Linkstation Live to the Drive Station without needing any laptops connected.
Although the pre installed Memeo software seems to provide this function, there are some dreadful reviews regarding the stability of this software when a recovery is actually required (http://www.amazon.com/Memeo-AutoBackup-Protect-Manage-Digital/product-reviews/B000E9JH6A)
Does anyone know of alternative backup software that is reliable and runs on the Linkstation Live?

You could try Acronis True Image Home 2009 with the info found here hopefully that would be sufficient enough. If not I would try www.cnet.com for any other backup software solution searches. Hopefully, you find this information useful.
