Title: Usb drives connected to linkstation
Post by: dazzer1975 on March 01, 2009, 04:08:26 PM

So, after sorting out my linkstation and forcing a firmware update and getting everythign working again, I have another problem I am hoping you will be able to help me with.

I have hs-dh500gl linkstation and have 2 usb drives coming off that.

I am running vista ultimate 32bit.

When I go to my computer> network drives > and either usb disk 1 or 2 I can not write to them or delete from them it says I do not have the permission.

I have gone into the browser to config the nas and have tried creating a new user and group and also enabling and disabling user restrictions but nothing works.

I want to be able to save to and delete from each drive (nas and 2 attached usb drives) independantly of each other. Is this possible, or are the two usb slots on the nas designed simply to backup the nas onto and thus all activity on those disks is scheduled automatically via back up?

Please help.

Cheers

just shout if you need any further info to help deal with this enquiry

The drives would need to be formatted in xfs to be writeable shares.
