Title: Is there not a way to change the default location for FTP on a TeraStation HS-DHTGL/R5?
Post by: DTKempII on February 28, 2009, 09:45:53 PM

I recently purchased a Buffalo TeraStation HS-DHTGL/R5 1.10 to use as storage for my music and video.  I wanted to use the FTP feature, because I  currently use my file server for my band...and I'd like to move it to the Buffalo NAS.  I noticed that it dumps you where you can see Info, array1 and share.  I also read enough to know that you have to go into array1 in login with an account that has permissions before you can see your shares that you have FTP enabled.  I would like to be able to set ftp to go directly to a particular share, rather than a folder beneath array1.  Is this possible?
Thank you in advance!

There is no way to change the FTP root directory on the NAS. You can most likely set your FTP client software to cd or cwd to the folder you want automatically.
