Title: Linkstation Quad LS-Q1.0/R5 not discoverable HELP!
Post by: johvan on February 24, 2009, 09:53:21 PM

I can access the quad via HTTP and everything looks fine there, howerver, it's not visible on my network and the buffalo utility cannot discover it either.

Ideas?

If you can connect to the web interface you should be able to see it in the NASNAVI.  Try disabling any protective software that may be on your computer.

My issue was the Web Interface and NASNAVI were not accessable.  The only status I was able to see was teh Quad going in to EM Mode afer a fresh restart of the Quad.  Apparently something screwy with the firmwear...diect connected the Quad to a PC and refreshing the firmwear did the trick...However, the Quad needed to be restarted when direclty connected to the PC for the firmwear updater tool to see the device...Put the Quad back on the network and the necessary PC's that could not communicate can now see the device fine...I did notice that one of my shared folder needed to be dropped and recreated...fortunately, it was used as a temp storage space and nothing critcial was on the share that needed to be deletedd.  I had been working on that share just prior to my problem...no errors were detected or reported.  My other two shares (1.2 TB of storage) were fine...So I am good to go now...
