Title: Linkstation EZ LS-L320GL + Web Access Issue.
Post by: mcaram16 on February 21, 2009, 11:48:48 PM

I have a linkstation 320gig and i installed the updated firmware which is supposed to allow web access as i was told by a buffalo rep.  I setup my router to forward port 9000 and i went to the IP of the linkstation to enable web access and enter port 9000 as the external port.  Now I'm able to access the linkstation locally from buffalonas.com, but externally it will not connect. Any help would be appreciated.

Side note:

I have 2 routers...on the first router i forwarded port 9000 to my second router and on the second router i forwarded port 9000 as well with the linkstation IP.

You have 2 routers and you port forwarded on both? That means you have two NAT tables running at the same time. That's not good and that's probably why it's not working.

I use this setup for a number of things that i have connected to the second router...slingbox being one of them and the and i can access my slingbox from anywhere using the same setup and port forwarding as i listed above.

what do you suggest I do?  I don't want to move the linkstation to the first router...plus its a g router....

It may, but that would be the same as putting your router into bridge mode. You don't want two NAT tables on the same network.
