Title: DriveStation Combo 4 1TB - Flashing Light?
Post by: shoplifter74 on February 18, 2009, 07:03:58 PM

Hello,

I purchased the aforementioned external drive yesterday. Is it normal for the blue light on the front of the drive to flash intermittently? It wasn't flashing last night, but today it is. I read a review that actually listed the non-flashing of the light as a negative, so my guess is this is not supposed to be happening. I'm not intending to nitpick...but this is an important piece of my backup, and I want to make sure the drive is not faulty. Also, when I turn it on there are two short clicks. I'd imagine this is normal, but thought I'd bring that up as well.

Any thoughts?  Thank you in advance!

The drive makes random clicking noises, as well. Anyone?

If its clicking randomly it means that the hard drive is starting to be defective. I would take it back if I were you.
