Just purchased the
Buffalo LS-W2.0TGL/R1-V3 for a company. Formatted the drives, set it up in RAID 0, set up a shared folder, set up user access to shared folder, and I started copying files into the folder. Halfway through copying, I get a constant error:
"Cannot copy (filename): The specified network name is no longer available".
I've received this message several times during file copy attempts.
I also seem to lose connectivity to the device almost every time I try to do an update to something (adding new folders, user permissions, etc.)
Any ideas?

Well the first thing would be to make sure the firmware is up to date. The current version is 3.09, released on 2/16/2009. Unless you already ran the update it is unlikely that it is up to date. As long as the user you created is under the read/write box under the access restrictions section of the share folder properties you should no longer have an issue like that with the new firmware.
Firmware update was the first thing I did.
Anything else I should check?
You could try logging into the units interface and going to maintenance, intialization, and restoring to factory defaults. This might fix your issue. If you cannot get into the interface than this would be a firmware issue and you would need to do a force update of the firmware. You have to do a force because you already have the latest firmware avaible but it is corrupt. If you search for force update in the knowlege base you will find out how to do this.
