Title: DriveStation Shuts Down Windows Vista Ultimate
Post by: BillHamm on February 14, 2009, 01:19:18 PM

I recently installed DriveStation Model HD-CE1.OTU2 on a Dell XPS 420 running Vista Ultimate.  I am able to see -- and write to -- the drive. When I leave the computer unattended for any length of time and return, I receive a message from Windows that Windows has recovered from a serious error.

I disconnected the DriveStation and the problem stopped.  When I reconnected it, I encountered the same problem.

I have downloaded and installed the Firmware update to "correct the hibernation problem", but I continue to encounter the same problem as before.

Any suggestions for fixing this problem?

Try using a USB port in the back of the computer. The front ports on many computers are somewhat flaky.
