Title: Xbox 360 CANNOT see Linkstation
Post by: AKwasp on February 13, 2009, 08:00:01 PM

Hello,

On Wednesday I purchased Buffalo LinkStation EZ LS-C1.0TL 1.0TB NAS Drive from NewEgg.

It's been working great, sharing files over the network and WebAccess.

However, I cannot stream media from the NAS to my Xbox 360. The media folder on the drive has no access restrictions, and the Xbox does not even recognize the LinkStation as a device/ PC.

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks,

AKwasp

The media connection on the 360 is looking for a DRM from Windows Media Player 10 or later when it goes to stream media from a server. Since the NAS Drive is Linux based it cannot pass this DRM information. Due to this the streaming may not work, for further assistance you may want to contact Microsoft and see if they can recommend some way to bypass this authentication.
