Title: Larger Drive in Linkstation Pro
Post by: jckinger on February 12, 2009, 12:01:13 PM
I just bought a new 1.5TB hard drive. I attempted to install the drive into my 500GB Linkstation Pro last night and the Linkstation did not appear to like the drive. What are my options for upgrading the drive in this unit? Is there anyway to make it work with my 1.5TB drive?

Put your 1.5TB in an external USB case and plug it in.. Then you'll have 2TB!

That won't work, the maximum it will recognize in the rear usb port is 1TB. By exchanging the original drive in the unit for a larger one you will void the warranty. That being said, if you do that you'll have to reapply your firmware.
