I have Linkstation Pro Quad with 4x1TB WD10EARS disks and now one of them has failed. So can i replace the faulty WD10EARS with new WD10EZRX?
Once the specs of the 2 HDDs are the same (size, cache and RPM) then it should be fine.
I found spec sheet ( http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/SpecSheet/ENG/2879-701229.pdf ) which indicates that they are pretty similar, and other list ( http://www.buffalotech.com/content/files/products/Supported_HDD_List_LS-QVL.pdf ) of supported hard drives.
On the supported list there is WD30EZRX but no WD10EZRX. Only difference between those seem to be size. So if 3TB model is supported, maybe 1TB will work too...
confirming that WD10EZRX works nicely with WD10EARS
